    Why the need for a separate facility?
    Conducting ADAS calibrations would entail significant restructuring and loss of space within a typical collision repair shop. ADAS calibration processes requires specialized equipment, software, and a controlled environment to ensure precise and accurate calibration. Integrating these requirements into an existing shop can disrupt the workflow and limit available space for other repair work. Calibrations performed on-site by a mobile vendor may not meet manufacturer requirements. This is primarily because mobile vendors may lack the specialized equipment and software necessary to perform OE-level calibrations. ADAS systems are highly sophisticated and require precise calibration to function correctly. Mobile vendors may not have access to the advanced diagnostic tools, specialized cameras, and sensors needed for accurate calibration. On-site calibrations may also be subject to environmental conditions that can interfere with the calibration process, such as excessive noise, vibrations, or inadequate lighting. A separate facility allows for a controlled and dedicated environment specifically designed for ADAS calibration. This ensures that the calibrations are performed according to manufacturer specifications, resulting in optimal performance and safety of the ADAS systems. By having a dedicated facility, technicians can focus solely on ADAS calibration without distractions, guaranteeing thorough and accurate calibration for each vehicle.

    What goes into a LI Lighthouse facility?
    Our center is roughly 4,000 square feet and provide the work bay dimensions necessary for proper target distance placement for each calibration service (these required bay dimensions are very different than a typical body shop metal or mechanical bay’s size and shape). Each bay is equipped with a perfectly flat, epoxy coated, certified flooring that exceeds OEM requirements for calibration as well as advanced, controllable lighting. We use a specific non-reflective white color scheme throughout, so nothing interferes with lidar/radar targets. This type of controlled environment is essential to perform successful, precise calibrations, free from obstruction and interference.
